Creating Windows 8.1 ISO Using Your Win 8 Key To Download Files

I saw someone asked me about how to create Windows 8.1 ISO file and because I already recorded my older video, updating Win 8 to 8.1 that you can watch and read in this post, I tried that method again to create an ISO file, and it didn’t work. (I already updated that post, and it should work again.)

So because I am a typical of person who gets more curious after trying something which doesn’t work, I tried and tried again, also looking for some good resources on the internet, I finally was able to create the Windows 8.1 ISO files using this method.

Basically, all what you need is the 2 set up files for Win 8 and 8.1 (they’re in exe formats) that you can download from Microsoft website, and your Windows 8 key. The Win 8 product key has to be the valid one.

Downgrading Windows 8 to Windows 7 on Dell Inspiron 15 3531

Bios version on a Dell laptop

Windows 8.1 came pre-installed with Dell Inspiron 15 3531 if you purchase it. And for Windows 7 fans, you might want to install this OS in this laptop.

This laptop has the drivers for Win 7 OS, so you can do the downgrade.

Before you do this, you should have backup your laptop, if in case you want to install Windows 8.1 OS back. This means, everything in your laptop will be gone or all wiped after Windows 7 installation process, you won’t see any of your previous files on your computer.

Since this Inspiron 15 3531 model doesn’t come with a Pro version of Windows 8.1, you will need to buy Windows 7 license key. If it is a retail disc, you will need Win 7 Service Pack 1.

Windows 8.1 Start Screen that we will disable

Disable Start Screen on Windows 8.1 and disable User Password Prompt. I have been using Windows Operating System based computers for years, and starting from Windows 8, this OS is completely different from the previous versions.

I know there are pros and cons about it, but in my personal opinion, the Metro UI is just waste of time, if you need your computer more for productivity than for fun.

Although the Metor UI is indeed a nice and fun features to play with, I want to go straight to my desktop whenever I open my computer or laptop in my case.

I usually don’t have problem with reading small fonts, however the default font size of Command Prompt in Windows 8 is way too small for me. Not sure if I must check my eyes, but as I must open it, I had to change Command Prompt font size of my laptop.
