First of all, if you pay for a laptop that costs less than 250 bucks, you can’t expect a high end Windows 8 OS laptop.
This Acer Aspire ES1-511-C59V laptop just works, it performs your basic computing.
Acer Aspire ES1 – Few Minors
Important to know, this laptop doesn’t have touchscreen feature, so if you are looking for Windows 8 laptop with a touchscreen, I suggest you to choose another laptop like this one, it has 15.6″ touchscreen and still affordable.
Microsoft Office is not included in this Acer Aspire ES1-511-C59V 15.6-Inch Laptop (Diamond Black), so you would need to purchase it separately.
No DVD drives, so if you are regularly playing DVD on a laptop, this could be a problem for you. I myself, haven’t used a laptop’s DVD drive for years, and a DVD drive isn’t something that you will need often. Lighter thinner laptops usually don’t have DVD drives anyways.
Alternatively, you can get an external DVD drive.

Furthermore, the 15.6″ screen is a glossy one, and it isn’t a 1080p HD screen resolution but if you check about the price again, then it’s quite fair. Check out this tips to watch 1080 HD YouTube videos instantly.
Since the graphic processor is actually an intregated one, combined with 1366 x 768 screen resolution, this Acer Aspire ES1-511-C59V laptop is very low for 3D project editing or gaming. So if you are a heavy graphic designer, check out other laptop.
Keyboard has no numpad, but the key spacing is good so typing on it is just comfortable.
So far, that’s the “troubles” I found with this device, otherwise it works.

Overall, you will like the price, check this for the best offer.
The black color – solid built feeling although it is made from plastic. But it’s thin and light for a 15.6″ laptop, it will just fit in your backpack.
This is the highlight of this laptop, the processor is a 2.16 Ghz Intel Celeron N2830, in comparison with a AMD Dual-Core E1-6010 processor, the clock speed is 60% faster (60%!), and it’s more energy efficient.
|Intel Celeron N2830||AMD Dual-Core E1-6010|
|1MB L2 Cache||1MB L2 Cache|
|2.16 GHz Clock Speed||1.35 GHz Clock Speed|
|22 nms||28 nms|
|7.5W TDP||10W TDP|
|313 MHz||350 MHz|

There are 3 USB ports that came with this laptop, 1x USB 3.0, and 2x USB 2.0, I use the 2.0 USB for my external mouse, and the other 2 are for many things. The USB 3.0 took only 4 minutes to move almost 10 gigs files from my laptop to an external hdd. So to transfer files, you must use the USB 3.0 port.
If you really have a tight budget and need a working laptop then I will recommend this laptop. The specs are enough to do your basic computing and games, it does all and the price will make you jump, under 250!
