HP 15-f111dx is a decent laptop. I am a Mac user, but the Macbook I am using is already 7 years old, so I took a look around, and want a device to try the updated Windows OS. Finally deciding on this HP 15-f111DX to play WoW and Minecraft.
This HP f111DX laptop is affordable, got it at best here, so you wouldn’t have an audio system like Bose, that’s what I want to mention before going into its details below.. This means, the audio is acceptable, but you won’t get pro audio sound system, it’s just perfect for my daily use, watching YouTube videos, listening iTunes, and hearing my WoW audio.
A8 Quad-Core Processor
For the price, I cannot complain about the processor speed. The A8 quad-core processor is the latest 2014 AMD processor and it has AMD Radeon HD 8210 graphics, laptop runs Windows 8.1 smooth and speedy enough for me. Compared with baytrail under 300 bucks these days, this laptop can play games decently, of course not a true champ of gaming, but actually surpasses my expectations, I’ve tried a few games that is hard to run, and they play fine with their specific settings. I run Minecraft for over 60 FPS, and it runs fine, seriously, I am pretty impressed with its gaming ability.
Most laptops have 4GB RAM at this price, don’t they? Well this HP 15-f111DX 15.6″ Touch-Screen Laptop Computer has 8GB RAM that helps running a lot of Windows programs all at once without closing them.

The screen isn’t a perfect one, but definitely does its job. With the right position of the screen, you will be able to watch videos, and playing games with the best view. Honestly, the viewing angle of this laptop is average, but what can we expect on a laptop that is less at $500.
External ports include 1x HDMI, 2x USB 3.0, 1xUSB 2.0, SD card reader, RJ-45 LAN and headphone/microphone jack. I’d recommend to always use the USB 3.0 since it’s super fast.
The trackpad and keyboard are average, and not bad at all. For trackpad you will be able to choose gestures that you like, there is a right and click button, though I am using an external mouse most of the time. The keyboard has a numpad on the right, which works fine.
