The ASUS T100TAM-C1-GM is an updated version of the predecessor like ASUS T100TA-H1-GR, there are a few upgrades, such as the newer processor which is Intel Bay Trail-T Z3775 1.46 GHz, metal body, screen better saturation, and slightly better graphics processor.
Before I decided to pick this, I thought there would be better competitors with similar specifications at this lower price point.
But it seems this ASUS Transformer Book 10.1″ T100TAM-C1-GM Detachable 2-in-1 Touchscreen Laptop, 64GB (GREY METAL) has better specs for people who want a tablet that has decent laptop’s keyboard.
This device is a good little tablet that you can use as a full laptop with Windows 8.1, and of course, it has some minor flaws.
I have been using this tablet for a few weeks, and these are the minor flaws that I found.
The charger cord is about 12 inch long, so it’s very short and it doesn’t have a rear facing camera. The camera is a 1.2mp, and a front facing camera, means there is no a back camera.
Good features are:
– Of course, for a laptop tablet combo price point.
– IPS display which is better than a TN screen device with touchscreen feature
– Latest generation of quad-core processor combined with 64 gigs of SSD and 2 gigs of memory
– You have an USB 3.0 in the keyboard, while you will still have other ports like Micro USB, Micro HDMI and Micro SD ports on the device.
– Solid keyboard and a good battery life

The ASUS T100TAM-C1-GM has the latest 4th generation of quad-core 1.46 GHz Intel atom Baytrail-T Z3775 processor, which means, it isn’t an i-series processor like i5, i7 nor a gaming laptop like ASUS GL551JM, but it runs my multitasking apps pretty smoothly, and has barely no lag. If you consider a full laptop with a similar price, check out ASUS f555la-ah51 instead.
The CPU, 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, Intel HD Graphics and a 64 GB SSD are combination that can work with Windows 8.1 efficiently, it’s not the most powerful laptop, but it’s built for longer battery life. I prefer a 64 GB SSD rather than a 500GB HDD due to the hard drive’s speed.
The IPS touchscreen is a clear rich color 10.1 inch and 1366×768 px screen resolution. It’s a widescreen, and there is almost no lag while using the touch features.
Appearance wise, it looks solid and premium as it has aluminum body. The total weight of the device (with the dock attached), is approximately 2.46 lbs, the keyboard weighs 1.2 lbs and the tablet itself weighs about 1.46 lbs.
Since it is made from aluminum you may notice that the keyboard seems to be a little more heavy than it should be.
The back part of the keyboard is made from rubber (rubberized) material.
However, it’s smaller than a standard laptop’s keyboard. This also means, it has smaller keys but they will just work or feel like you’re typing on a laptop. This device is now replacing my 17 inch laptop, because I feel that it isn’t a tablet but it does feel like a regular laptop, making my computing life easier each day on the go.
The battery life of this Asus t100tam-c1-gm is fantastic. I feel that the battery life can last until 10 hours with basic usage like editing my notes and surfing the whole day, just do my daily usage without worrying about battery life.
While the ports on the tablet are all micro ports, but it has full size USB 3.0 on the keyboard (dock). Ports like Micro-USB port (also used to charge), micro SD and micro HDMI, as well as a headphone jack (3.5 mm) are all located on the tablet.
All in all, I am glad I’ve bought Asus t100tam-c1-gm, I am using it for both productivity and entertainment replacing my laptop while I am on the go, and I haven’t looked back. Buy it on Amazon now, you get a Windows 8.1 full version, a year unlimited storage, MS Office and a keyboard dock! The best hybrid (laptop/tablet) device found!
